Responding to the 2025 Myanmar Earthquake: Comfort in Crisis

When news broke of the devastating earthquake that struck Myanmar earlier this year, several of our Myanmar maids were deeply affected. Some had loved ones injured, others lost contact with their families for days, and a few had their hometowns devastated.

Immediately after the news, our Director, Mr. Tay, along with our dedicated team, personally visited our Myanmar maids at our dormitory. They brought comfort food and snacks, not just to nourish but to lift spirits and provide a moment of peace. The visit was not about formality — it was about being present, listening, and offering heartfelt support.

In partnership with Hagar and Elim Church Singapore, we also arranged a special Myanmar worship service at Elim Church. This service provided a spiritual space for our Myanmar Christian maids to gather, pray for their families and country, and find comfort in community and faith during such an uncertain time.

Helping One of Our Own Return Home After a Tragedy

One of our Myanmar maids received heartbreaking news — her mother had passed away as a result of the earthquake. Without hesitation, Best Home waived her outstanding loan, presented her with a red packet as a gesture of compassion, and arranged her flight home so she could attend the funeral and be with her grieving family.

Meanwhile, we took care of her employer’s needs by placing a replacement helper, ensuring that both maid and employer were supported. We strongly believe that no one should have to choose between finances and family during moments of crisis. We would like to thank this very special employer for being so understanding and kind towards our helper as well.

Curry Puff Day – A Small Treat, A Big Smile

We believe small gestures go a long way. Early this month, we hosted a simple but heartwarming Curry Puff Day at our lodging facilities. Every maid received Old Chang Kee curry puffs, fully sponsored by Best Home. It was a fun and casual way to bring joy and let our maids know: we see you, and we appreciate you.

Labour Day 2025 Movie Day: A Break Before the Journey Ahead

On Labour Day 2025, we celebrated the hard work and resilience of our maids by organising a Movie Day. All Best Home maids in our lodging were treated to movie tickets, fully sponsored by us, to catch blockbuster hits like Marvel's Thunderbolts and Mission Impossible.

It was not just about entertainment — it was a chance for our maids to relax, laugh, and feel refreshed before starting work with their new employers.
